Loose Cover Sofa Fabrics

The choice of Loose Cover Sofa Fabrics available to buyers is much more limited than the choice of Fixed Cover Sofa Fabrics.

Why is this?

Basically, it is down to fire regulations.

Most furniture fabrics have a fire retardant backing and is not suitable for laundering or dry cleaning.

Loose Covers can only be made with fabrics that are inherently fire-retardant, permanently fire-retardant, or durably fire-retardant, and do not have this fire retardant coating/backing.

What this means is that the only fabrics suitable are made from at least 70% natural fibres - most are 100% natural fibre like cotton or linen.
